Mahaska Health Partnership Celebrates National Healthcare Week
Mahaska Health Partnership joins hospitals across the United States in celebrating National Healthcare Week, May 12-18. It is the largest healthcare event that celebrates the hospital’s providers and staff, services and history.
A hospital is more than a place where people go to heal, it is part of the community that fosters health and represents wellness. From providing treatment and comfort to the sick to welcoming new life into the world, hospitals are central to a healthy and optimistic community.
“National Healthcare Week, first and foremost, is a celebration of people,” MHP CEO Jay Christensen said. “We’re extremely proud of each member of our staff and we know the important role they play in extending a sense of trust to our patients and our communities.”
According to Christensen, healthcare has a personal and very powerful role in the lives of every member of the community. At MHP, National Healthcare Week gives the health system an opportunity to connect with other staff members, patients and their family members to celebrate the great things happening every day.
Christensen said that MHP has a lot to celebrate during Healthcare Week, including forward progress on the new Patient Care Wing scheduled to open this fall, the merger with Family Medical Center on July 1, and the switch to a new electronic medical record this fall.
“We know we have outstanding healthcare providers and staff,” Christensen said. “We are very excited to open a facility that matches the excellence of our expanded staff.”
