Surgical Services

 Breon-Surgery

Going into surgery can be frightening, and it’s never fun. But when you are surrounded by caring staff and top experts in their fields, we hope you’ll feel a little better going in – and much better coming out.

Our surgeons are long-standing members of the medical community, well-versed in the latest surgical procedures and technologies, and are equipped to meet the needs of your entire family with skill, care and compassion. The entire Mahaska Health Partnership Surgical Services staff of physicians, anesthetists and nurses go the extra mile for patients every day to ensure a comfortable, personalized experience. We are all part of the Oskaloosa and Mahaska County communities and treat every patient as we would our friend, family member or neighbor.

Surgical disciplines include ear/nose/throat (ENT), general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedics (bone and joint), ophthalmology (eye),podiatry (foot) and urology.

Mahaska Health Partnership’s nurses are specially trained in critical care nursing and are ready to respond at a moment’s notice if emergency situations arise. Many staff members have more than 20 years of operating room experience and share the goal of making healthcare personal for each patient. Our Surgical Services team received national recognition in the September 2013 issue of Consumer Reports magazine. This recognition was based on a ranking involving Medicare patients who experienced adverse events after a procedure, such as death or an extended stay due to a complication. MHP was ranked 4 out of 5, or "better," in Consumer Reports terminology, since our patients experienced fewer adverse events. Our dedication and experience shows in our track record of excellence.
