MHP Receives Audit Results

Gronewold, Bell, Kyhnn & Co. P.C. CPAs, have released an audit report on Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

According to Chris Nelson, audit partner, MHP’s revenues totaled $37,363,100 for fiscal year 2011, which runs from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. This is a 7.3 percent increase from the prior year. The revenues included $33,762,200 in net patient revenue, $390,700 of other operating revenue, $1,915,400 from county taxes and $89,800 in interest on investments.

Expenses for the year totaled $35,226,800, a 7.9 percent increase from the prior year, and included $15,376,400 for other professional services, $9,050,100 for nursing services and $5,935,500 for fiscal and administrative services.

Nelson said the increase in revenues and expenses is primarily due to increases in inpatient and outpatient services provided.

“I’m pleased that we had a growth in volumes despite the volatile national economy,” said MHP CEO Jay Christensen. “That continued growth will allow us to seek additional opportunities to provide services to our patients.”

A copy of the audited report will soon be available for review in the office of the Auditor of State and the Hospital Administrator’s office.
