Welcome Tina Main, ARNP

Mahaska Health Partnership welcomes Tina Main, ARNP

Mahaska Health Partnership is pleased to welcome Family Nurse Practitioner Tina Main, ARNP, to its group of medical providers who serve the region’s healthcare needs.

Main brings many years of experience, providing primary care services to people of all ages.  “I enjoy watching my patients grow,” Main explained. “When I have the opportunity to treat children, parents and grandparents I am able to see the family mature. It is a blessing to be Mahaskapart of that process and I am so honored when parents choose to share their child’s growth and development with me.”

Prior to re-locating to MHP, Main practiced in both large metro-hospitals and rural healthcare settings in the Kansas City area. “As a Registered Nurse for hospitalized pediatric patients, I quickly realized I wanted to be more active in their care and recovery,” Main said. “I chose to be a nurse practitioner because I believe in treating my patients as a whole; accounting for the entire mind, body and spirit when providing care.”

Main received her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) in 2005 and has practiced in a variety of healthcare settings. “I have had the opportunity to educate as a nursing professor, perform newborn assessments in an inpatient hospital setting, and provide primary care to all ages in a clinic setting,” Main explained. “By far, I truly enjoy creating a relationship with my patients and find that a clinic setting is the best fit.”

Main said patients can expect compassionate, personalized care. “As a busy mother of two small boys, I know how valuable a half an hour can be. I provide very thorough but timely care for my patients. They can rely on me to be punctual and detail-oriented.”

Main grew up in Oskaloosa and graduated from Oskaloosa Senior High School. Main’s parents, Clare and Marla Hoven, and three brothers live locally. “It is a privilege to be able to provide quality, personalized healthcare in the community where I grew up.”

As a member of the MHP Specialty Services team, Main joins Family Practitioner Nick Messamer, MD; Adult Medicine Nurse Practitioner Lisa Nelson, ARNP; Family Nurse Practitioner Melissa Lamb, who practices at the New Sharon Medical Center; Pediatrician John O’Brien, MD; Orthopaedic Surgeon Sreedhar Somisetty, MD; Orthopaedic Physician Assistant Michael Johnson, PA-C; General Surgeons Paul Riggs, MD, and Timothy Breon, MD; and Allergy/Pulmonologist Ron Graeff, MD;

 “Tina is a wonderful asset for our patients and it’s always great when providers return home to provide care for their community,” MHP Executive Director of Clinic Services Kevin DeRonde said. “Her addition offers expanded access to providers for routine primary care as well as acute illness. Through the partnership of active medical staff and visiting specialty physicians at MHP, residents can have the majority of their healthcare needs met locally.”

Main is available at MHP Specialty Services, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. She is currently accepting new patients and same day appointments are often available. To make an appointment with Main, call 641-672-3360.
